Routes Game Pokemon GO

Routes in Pokemon Go game online are special paths that have been determined in the game and that trainers can follow when exploring. These paths are created by Niantic, official partners or other trainers in the game. When trainers follow the route, of course they will have the opportunity to find Pokemon, interesting items and Zygarde Cells. Trainers who complete a route will earn rewards, such as Stardust, XP, and a unique badge associated with a particular Route that displays a special photo of the route’s start or end point.

Routes View

To find the nearest route, trainers can access the nearest screen option in the game and tap the route tab. This will display a list of nearby locations as route starting points. By tapping the View Nearby Routes option, the map will expand to show a route view with available routes at the location. The Route View has several options, as follows:

• Exits from the Routes View and goes back to the Map View.
• Displays the Routes Tutorial.
• Centers the map around the Trainer.
• The compass.

Trainers can expand the route view to see a complete list of available nearby routes. Trainers can also use the sort by favorites flag button in the bottom right corner to sort the list by different options. In general, the list shows the closest route to the trainer’s current location. There are 5 route categories, namely:

• All routes
• Known routes
• Official routes created by Niantic
• New routes
• Popular routes

Tapping a specific Route allows the Trainer to preview it on the map, showing the start point of the Button Route and the end point of the Button Route. By expanding a specific Route View, Trainers can check important details such as the number of Trainers who have followed the Route, the number of times Trainers have followed it, the distance of the Route, and the estimated completion time. Also, route description is displayed along with altitude, tags and route creator. Some routes can only be followed in one direction, while other routes can be followed in reverse or in a circle, depending on the Route creator’s choices. To follow the route that is available, of course you only need to tap the “Follow” button to start the route.

Exploring a Route

After selecting and pressing the Follow route button, the trainer must approach the starting point to start the route. If the trainer is too far away, a message will appear on the map display to indicate this. The route will start automatically once the trainer is near the starting point. As the Trainer follows the path specified on the Map View, the color of the path will change to indicate progress in completing the Route.

Trainers can see details of their active routes at any time by tapping the route icon above the nearest button. To pause the route for a while, trainers can press the Pause Route button and then resume it by tapping the Resume Route button icon. To exit a route, trainers can scroll to the bottom of a specific route view and tap the Exit Route button.

Route-specific Pokemon appear when exploring a Route, usually appearing after traveling about 500 meters. This is indicated by the Route icon in the capture screen. Region exclusive Pokemon have high spawn rates from these specific encounters. Zygarde Cells can also replace Route-specific spawning spots, usually appearing towards the end of Routes. This is indicated by a flash of green light. Once tapped, they can award 1, 2, or 3 Zygarde Cells. Only a total of 3 Zygarde Cells can be obtained on any given day. Zygarde Cells only have a chance of spawning from each Route the first time it is followed on a given day.

Completing a Route

When trainers reach a route end point or a circular route start, they will earn a Route Badge associated with that particular route. Similar to Gym badges, each route has its own unique badge that displays an image of the route start or end point.
